A few pics from the drive back from the monastery visit two weekends ago. Although I travelled the same route twice last fall, it's good to view the landscape in a different season, plus there were scenes I didn't remember seeing last time.
I got up at 6am so I could walk around the valley for an hour before we had to hit the road. This is Jakar Dzong in the mist.
Around here, a distance of 267 km takes nine to ten hours to travel.

... and the green rice terraces in Wangdue Phodrang before the land becomes more densely settled. A wonderful drive and best of all, I didn't get car sick!
