so much skiing

Question for those watching the Winter Olympics: have you noticed how many sports involve skis? I have been inspired to invent yet another event: the Ski Decathlon. This is the only way to decide who is truly the best skier.

The summer decathlon requires an athlete to compete in the following disciplines: 100 metre sprint, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400 metres, 100 metre hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin and 1500 metres.

My skiing decathlon will include these events: downhill, Super G, slalom, ski cross, aerials, moguls, ski jump - normal hill, ski jump - large hill, cross-country classic and cross-country pursuit.

And the usual rules apply - if an athlete crashes out on one run, they are out of the competition.

Don't hesitate to let me know how awesome this idea is.

I think this is a great idea!

I can also see a skate-based multi-discipline event: Hockey, Long Track Speed skating, short track, single figure skating, figure skating with your hockey team, skate-cross (Red Bull crashed ice style http://bit.ly/duQaGA).

There's lots of potential here...
