I'm on my way. Now.

Strange to think that the best case scenario for today would have me spending 17 hours sitting on my backside. New York to Bangkok is the 3rd longest commercial route running these days.

To be honest, I'm quite nervous about making my connection at JFK because I have to fly Delta from Toronto and the word is that they have a bad record for lateness. The acronym I've heard is Delta = Doesn't Even Leave The Airport. Airline acronyms are funny! Sabena Airlines stood for 'Such A Bad Experience, Never Again' apparently, hence their bankruptcy. Do you know any more?

God, I am so tired and random. It's going to be another 12 hours until I can sleep.

There were a lot of people I intended to call or e-mail before I took off - I just didn't get it done. And I know you've come to expect postcards from me when I travel but I don't think that will happen this time.

I watched a bunch of Southeast Asia-themed movies over the past few weeks: Indochine, The Quiet American, Tomb Raider (!) and City of Ghosts. City of Ghosts was my favourite. I lost the crime plot near the end but I loved the depiction of Phnom Pehn.

It took me more than an hour to write the above. Time to head out.
