Picture China

Found via Japundit: take a look at this astounding collection of photos of everyday life in China. They are split into three sets: survival, relationships and desires. Some of the photos appear to date to the early eighties, but most have a timeless look to them... Enjoy!

Great link...puts things in perspective, here I am at work tearing my hair out because I can't get the security of a share to work but at least I don't have to wait 45 mins to go to the bathroom or literally rub shoulders with thousands of other people on the way home at the end of the day

there are some good ones. Do you have any other favorites? Artistically speaking, I'd have to go with desires#34.

Desires #68 breaks my heart: those sad faces, shattered hopes...
Desires #48 touches me, too.
Desires #47 - oh, such rosy cheeks!

Artistically, I like Relationships #4.
Relationships #38 and Survival #43 each have an interesting composition, too.

I want to know the story behind Survival #46 and I'd like to know more about the characters from Relationships #21 and Survival #62.
