I had a few interesting moments on Saturday afternoon. I watched the CNE airshow while lying on my bed, looking out the window. I saw those much-hyped Snowbirds, nine of them flying in formation, as well as other aeronautic acrobatics, all from the comfort of my own room!
Later, I strolled over to Kensington Market to pick up a few groceries. There, I witnessed a sting operation as the police shut down and hauled off a bunch of guys selling pirated DVDs.
Then, I spotted the federal leader of the NDP, and his (also famous) wife, as they were doing their grocery shopping, too. I think Olivia was carrying a lamp, for some reason. For those of you who don't know Canadian politics, this is like seeing Ralph Nader at your corner store (except that the NDP won 16% of the popular vote last year).
Over the weekend, I had a hell of a time trying to get access to the internet. All my usual avenues were blocked. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get set up at home...
