T minus 105 minutes

I'm so ready to jet off right now but I've got a report to finish at work. Oh dear. The map is finished and the research is mostly done except that I have to figure out how to eloquently write "hey, there might be a bunch of unmarked burials somewhere on your property so before you get out there to have your way with the back-hoe and build yet another suburb, we're gonna need more time and money to poke around, find them and then dig them up. please don't be mad."

Actually, that text sounds pretty good, maybe I'll just cut-and-paste that in...

Yesterday I learned how to officially register archaeological sites with the province. Cool, huh? Perhaps I'll name one after myself... the Andrea site, Borden number AlGt-512, is an isolated find consisting of a partial Middle Archaic Brewerton Corner-notched point manufactured from Onondaga chert.

Okay, so now there's less than half an hour 'til I leave. Let's go through the check-list:

I've got my ride picking me up right after work (thanks, Vince!).
I still need to buy Canadian cigarettes for Antoaneta.
I've got my passport, Aeroplan card, web ticket print-out, US cash and travellers cheques...
I've packed my digital camera with an extra memory card...
my recently neglected Nikon F60 and two rolls of B/W...
my DK New York book and a Met guide...
two cute dresses and a bunch of random t-shirts and skirts...
comfy shoes and one pair of heels (just in case I need to look presentable)...
birthday stuff for Antoantea...
latest edition of JANE...
cell with US roaming enabled...
(no iPod since it's still not working)

I guess that's all I need. I'll drop you a line from NYC. Bye!
